Once upon a time, the folksinger and our friend Darrin Bradbury lived nearby and was a resident artist at Rapunzel’s- appearing at every open mic and songwriter’s contest for a couple of years and he even joined in the special Six Pack Songwriter Series that began here. Darrin then left Virginia and after a few twists and turns on the road, he settled down in Nashville. A few years ago he noticed a need in the community and got to doing what he could to help. That project became a non-profit and most recently resulted in them buying an old bus which they use for distributing food, water, and needed items in the Eastern Nashville community.
Darrin is bringing that bus on tour and visiting Rapunzel’s this Saturday, October 12th - with Corey King accompanying him (of The Ohio Weather Band) from Nashville and our local Virginia musicians Blair Jones (who just released an album last week!), Mary Gordon Hall, and Betty Jo Taylor who make up The LaDaDas will also join the stage this evening.
